SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Golden State Valkyries season ticket holders Sarah Swig and Ainsley Rossitto have transformed their home into a Halloween-themed display titled “Boohalla” to celebrate the basketball team reaching the finals.
The display celebrates the team's postseason run following a 3-0 series sweep over the Las Vegas Aces. Swig created the setup as a way to share her enthusiasm for the franchise with neighbors and sports fans.

“Welcome to Boohalla,” Swig said. “Just been a fun opportunity to bring people together and teach people that don't know about the Valkyries about the Valkyries.”
Swig and Rossitto incorporated specific team members into the decor. A section dedicated to the team roster showcases players Kaitlyn Chen and Veronica Burton depicted charging into battle. The setup also features head coach Natalie Nakase reimagined as “Natalie Nakauldron,” complete with a cauldron containing a referee jersey and whistle.
“Here we've got the Golden State Roster and Chen and Burton charging into battle as they do before every game,” Swig said.
Another section of the yard display, labeled “here in lie the fallen,” represents teams eliminated during the regular season and postseason. Rossitto noted the setup includes references to defeated opponents such as the Dallas Wings and the Las Vegas Aces.
“The Valkyries swept the Aces 3-0 and it brought us into the finals and we've got some big aces here that are getting swept,” Rossitto said. “Here in lie the fallen -- all the teams that didn't make the playoffs and the teams that have been knocked out along the way including the Aces and the Wings that we beat.”
The installation also includes “Hotel Valkatraz” to highlight the team's defense, along with a themed area dubbed the “boulevard of broken dreams” directed at the Atlanta Dream.
“This is hotel Valkatraz in honor of the Valkyries defense. We got the "night-night" pose because the Atlanta Dream are gonna be going "night-night" pretty soon,” Swig said.
Rossitto highlighted the display's playful rivalry with their upcoming opponent. “Welcome to the boulevard of broken dreams, because the Valkyries are gonna beat the Atlanta Dream,” Rossitto said.
If the finals series stretches to a full seven games, the deciding matchup would fall on Oct. 31.
“If there is a game 7, it will be on Halloween, which is kinda fitting, haha. But we hope we're not going to game 7,” Rossitto said.
